Wife and Mother
I married Scott in 1992 and blended our five children. Juggling school, work and church didn’t leave a lot of time for other things, but the family was close.
Shared values, cooperation and a lot of coordination made it work. Everyone grew up to be contributing members of society, smart, hard-working, responsible adults. Mission accomplished!
Four grandchildren came along and are a special blessing for me.
When Scott died suddenly in early 2019, my family rallied, and although that might signal the breakup of other clans, it just made the Causey-Mitchells that much stronger.
We find time to gather several times a year, especially for the Family Reunion in August. We also maintain a lively text thread, sharing bits and pieces of life with each other.

I taught myself to type in the 8th grade because I couldn’t write in my diary fast enough in longhand.
My first published romance, A Different Drum, is a story about how opposites attract in the most unexpected way. My second romance, A Hot Time in Texas, is a steamy romp through a crazy summer in a small town.
My Women’s Fiction, Sensible Shoes, is a humorous look at aging, family, friends, loss and love.
My romantic suspense entitled Saving Samantha is a dangerous game of cat and mouse…and that’s just the romance! It’s the first in the Men and Women of Valor series from The Wild Rose Press.
Windshadow, the first in a four-book series called The Widow Woman Mysteries is out now and guarantees murder, mayhem, and all the romance you'd expect from one of my books.
There are three more on the horizon, each with an older heroine traveling to an exotic locale and discovering a second chance at love.
New Chapter
I spend my days with friends and family, writing, or traveling. It’s exciting to think about what the next phase of my life will look like.
I love attending writing workshops around the country and around the world. So, I’ll keep traveling, spend more time with my grands, and work on perfecting my forever home.
But you’ll mostly find me at the computer, dreaming up the next adventures in romance for my heroes and heroines.
